65-Year-Old Glam Grandma Says She Only Dates Younger Men: ‘They’re More Energetic And Positive’

She’s confidently putting herself out there — and only has eyes for younger men.

At 65, Lesley Maxwell continues to show that age really doesn’t have to define lifestyle or romance. She’s single, outgoing, and not shy about admitting that she prefers dating younger men over anyone her own age.Maxwell’s youthful looks and vibrant personality often lead to surprising moments in public. Many people have mistaken her for the sister of her 21-year-old granddaughter, Tia, instead of her grandmother, which speaks volumes about how well she maintains herself and how youthful her appearance is.

Because of her lifestyle and outlook, Maxwell has developed a clear preference when it comes to dating. She says she is most attracted to younger, fit men, ideally between the ages of 20 and 40, who can match her energy both inside and outside the gym.

As a dedicated fitness trainer, she admits she’s well aware of her age but insists she has no plans to slow down. Speaking to What’s the Jam, she explained that she finds men closer to her own age are often “lazy and predictable.” which doesn’t appeal to her active lifestyle or personality.

With that outlook, she doesn’t see any reason to settle for men who don’t excite her or bring positivity into her life.

“Younger men in their twenties? They’ve got energy, spontaneity and they love a woman who knows what she wants,” Maxwell said, pointing out why men in their twenties often feel like a better fit for her than those who are older.

She notes that they’ve typically faced fewer heavy responsibilities compared to older men, which makes them lighter in spirit and easier to connect with on a fun level.”Some of the more mature men who talk to me are often burdened by life and problems,” In contrast, she explains that younger men are usually “more energetic and usually more positive.” which makes spending time with them more enjoyable and uplifting. For anyone hoping to catch her attention, Maxwell says it’s not just about age — personality and lifestyle play a big role too. She is drawn to men who are confident enough to approach her and who care about maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle, just like she does.”A man who’s confident enough to approach me is a good start, a healthy body so they can keep up with me and a sense of humor, of course,” she told What’s the Jam, making it clear what she values in a partner.

Maxwell also stresses that chemistry can’t be overlooked. No matter how successful or charming a man might be, if she doesn’t feel a natural spark, she doesn’t see the relationship going anywhere.”I once dated a successful real estate agent and realised that although he was a gentleman, there wasn’t any chemistry between us,” she revealed while speaking about one past experience. “So I used my ‘three-day cooling-off period’ as a reason to end it with him.”Lesley Maxwell isn’t the only woman embracing relationships with younger men. Another woman, Anne from Melbourne, shared her own story after divorcing and meeting a younger man during a night out with her friends.”I was just being friendly to this guy, and we were getting on well. My girlfriends said he was hitting on me big time, but I thought he was just being friendly,” Anne recalled when speaking to news.com.au ahead of her appearance on SBS’s “Insight’s Taboo Relationships” episode, explaining how she didn’t immediately realize the man was interested in her romantically.”I could be walking down the street and see a man and a younger woman and no one would flinch — but I was once walking down the street with a younger guy and was booed,” she said, recalling how strangers reacted very differently depending on the gender and age gap they saw. “It was so judgmental.”
